On February 20 th , 2017, John Amico School lent its expertise to a daycare, for a staff
appreciation day. The daycare known as Under Carey’s Care has 4 locations with 50
employees. Since they were closed on Presidents Day, they found the time befitting to
show their excellent staff their gratitude for all their hard work.
The event was hosted by Studio 144 in Riverdale, IL. The owner of the salon, Benita is a
former JA educator. Rhonda, the event coordinator specifically asked JA students at this
event because of all the wonderful things Benita has said about the John Amico School
over the years.
Ms. Suzette, the Director of Nails, along with her class, provided hand, face & shoulder
massages as well as manicures. Cosmetology students Alisha Smith & Angela Stevens
provided hair styling.
The staff and Under Carey’s Care loved being pampered by the JA students. They felt the
students were very professional and knowledgeable of the craft they have been taught.
Full service catering was provided all day to the staff and hard-working students as well
as morning mimosas. The hospitality was exceptional and the JA students were even
tipped for their services. Ms. Suzette said, “This was the best event ever! We look
forward to being a part of future occasions with Under Carey’s Care”.
