Please join us in our efforts to support quadruple amputee, Steven Walker. Steven was totally healthy young man who graduated college and had a normal life as a tutor and computer programmer. He was fine one day and the next day he was in the hospital fighting for his life. It is believed that Steven contacted a disease called Capnocytohaga, a rare, aggressive bacterial infection that shut down his kidneys, attacked his liver and spleen and led to quadruple amputations. Doctors believe that he had a tooth infection that weakened his immune system and that he may have come in contact with a dog that carried the disease. The bacteria itself is found in the saliva of healthy dogs and cats.

Walker was not expected to survive, But he miraculously made it and has long road to recovery, both physically and financially. His indomitable spirit has helped him to conquer obstacles that would try the strength of many. He has even joined a Wheelchair Rugby team, not to mention danced on stage on our cruise! His story is one of tremendous courage and will to live. Steven in an inspiration to all Of us! Let’s help him reach his recovery goals!
