This is my first week of cosmetology school and I have learned so much! This is a passion of mines and I'm extremely happy that I chose to make the career change from nursing to cosmetology. I learned how to do a figure 6 and 8 curl, spiral curls, and collision curls to perfection. I am so happy that I followed my dreams and am now apart of a lifelong family. I am now at the end of level 2 and I have perfected my blow drying air formation.

I've been to 2 other hair schools in Chicago and I didn't have the urge or motivation to finish because of my experience there.. but here at John Amico, where I'm currently a student... I want to finish, I am going to finish. I LOVE what I learn and what I do. Mr. Amico is not just an owner, he's a hands on teacher, inspirational speaker, motivator, listener, he is very concerned about his students as well as clients, then last but not least the owner .. as you see, I put owner last because before he lets you know who he may be, you see all those qualities and characteristics first and that's most important. HAIR.. not just the physical labor of hair but learning theory, which is a important aspect in doing hair.. anyone can do hair, but John Amico teaches not just the correct way of doing hair but the fundamentals it's going to take for you to become a successful Cosmetologist as well.

Well today was my last day of class!!!! I'm a Nail Technician!!!!! Yaaaay! I made it!!! Thanks goes out to God, because without him I am nothing, Leroy Booker my wonderful husband and children and last but not least, my Teacher/mentor Ms. Suzette!, Ms. Bariffe you are the best without you having faith in me, telling me every day that I can do it..... Your words "You got this!" I remember when I started, didn't know how to hold them nippers, them dang on nippers lol!, as I watched you twirl them in your hand as you demonstrated how to use them, I thought I will never be able to work them things, but you said it will come and it did. I'm not twirling, yet, lol, but I can work them now with no problem. Just want you to know that you are the best Instructor you made every day in class a learning and laughing experience. We had a blast and you taught me well!!! Any way love all of you!
